GRANITE QUARRY – Icy roads in Rowan County aren’t just dangerous for drivers on the road – they are really slowing down emergency crews.

This home on Dominion Drive caught fire Tuesday morning around 10:30 a.m., but it took crews longer to get to the fire because of the icy roads.

WBTV’s David Whisenant drove behind one of the fire trucks that could only drive about 35 miles per hour because of the slickness.
