Salisbury company rolls out pink carpet padding | Business

SALISBURY - Pink carpet padding?  That's the latest product rolled out to increase awareness of breast cancer.

Walk-On Products of Salisbury, NC has introduced a new product line called Curebond.

 It is a 9.0 lb. high-quality premium carpet pad that features a 2 mil. pink moisture barrier and a nonwoven moisture resistant bottom. It is hypo-allergenic, made with soy and Eco friendly.

“Consumers today are looking for more than just a quality product. They want to feel like their purchases are also going to help the world in some way,” said Jeff Moose, of Walk-On Products. “We are introducing Curebond to bring awareness about a disease that has affected 1in 8 women. Early detection of breast cancer offers the best chance for survival.”

“It’s time for carpet padding to be brought out from under the sales desk,” said Moose. “We hope to change the way that carpet padding is marketed by providing retailers with the tools needed to assist consumers in making buying decisions.”

Billy Moose, President of Walk- On Products, started in the 1970’s with sheet metal work, which evolved into manufacturing equipment for the foam industry. From that, he began to build equipment specifically for the carpet padding industry.

Moose said that Curebond is the first product to be introduced as part of a broader initiative by the company to bring carpet padding to the forefront in retail carpet stores.

Walk-On Products has enlisted the services of the marketing firm, Miller Davis, Inc. to develop a new website and eye-catching point of purchase materials for Curebond.

A portion of the sale of each roll of Curebond carpet padding will be donated to organizations involved in breast cancer research and awareness.

 According to Moose, carpet padding is often an afterthought that is not given much consideration.  A good quality pad, he says, can extend the life of carpet and improve R-values.
