Charlotte, NC – Kim Schaefer, CEO of Great Wolf Resorts, and Phil Cunningham, General Manager of Great Wolf Lodge Concord presented a check for $82,350 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte (BBBSGC) on Tuesday, August 7 at Great Wolf Lodge in Concord. Karen Calder, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte, represented the non-profit.
This donation represents income from Big Splash, which ran from April 29 to May 24, 2012. The waterpark resort donated tickets, and contributed 100% of the proceeds to BBBSGC.
“Phil Cunningham and his staff creatively engage their clients in supporting the community,” said Karen Calder, CEO of BBBSGC. “Great Wolf Lodge Concord leads the charge among our corporate partners in their enthusiasm to make a difference in the lives of children across our region.”
Increased funding will allow BBBSGC to carefully make more mentoring matches and provide ongoing support to the volunteers, mentees and their families to help sustain the long-term, successful relationships unique to the organization.
Great Wolf Lodge Concord has donated over $250,000 in financial and in-kind support to BBBSGC since 2009.
Kim Schaefer, CEO of Great Wolf Resorts, said “We are so happy to wrap our hands around an organization like Big Brothers Big Sisters. As a family-oriented resort, we love their mission. They develop great values for kids who are our future leaders.”
