Produce to purses at the 5th Annual Holiday Market

KANNAPOLIS (NC Research Campus) - The after Thanksgiving sales at the mall or chain stores can’t match the variety and quality of North Carolina-grown foods and handmade gifts at Kannapolis’ fifth annual holiday market sponsored by the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) and the Piedmont Farmers Market.

Open Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26 from 10 am to 5 pm at 120 West Avenue in downtown Kannapolis, shoppers can visit more than 27 vendors and take home food items and original gifts like:

•Fresh fruits and vegetables
•Cheese straws, cakes, candies, breads and other homemade treats
•North Carolina Christmas trees, Christmas greenery, Christmas gift baskets and Christmas ornaments
•Jellies, jams and honey
•Handcrafted blankets, plush toys, embroidered items, baby gifts, wall hangings, dish towels and aprons
•Muscadine, scuppernong, blackberry, blueberry and other North Carolina wines
•Lotions, candles and silk flowers
•Jewelry and watches
•wear, paper crafts, metal art, leather products, birdhouses and wood carvings

The Holiday Market annually draws hundreds of people from all around the Charlotte-area and as far away as South Carolina and Virginia. Musical entertainment, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, horse-drawn carriage rides and childrens' activities are all part of the festive atmosphere. Only cash or checks accepted with prices to suit every budget.

For those who cannot attend the Holiday Market, the weekly farmers market is Thursdays from 3 pm to 6 pm at 120 West Avenue in downtown Kannapolis.  To stay up-to-date on the weekly NCRC farmers market “like” NC Research Campus on Facebook, follow the campus on Twitter @NCRCampus or log onto www.ncresearchcampus.net.
