ASHEVILLE - After 5 days and 400 miles, the Carolina Brotherhood Run has arrived in Asheville. The team of thirty firefighters, including Salisbury Battalion Chief Jay Baker, made a stop at the Mountain Home Fire and Rescue on Friday for a lunch break before pedaling the remaining 16 miles.
The journey began on Monday morning when the group left from Wilmington.
The group was met by the truck shown in the picture, Captain Bowen's Rescue 3 Company. Bowen is the Asheville firefighter who died in the line of duty last year. The Carolina Brotherhood Run was designed to honor Captain Bowen and raise funds for his family.
