SPENCER - Police are looking for the driver of a truck they say ran over an employee in the drive-thru after being told the restaurant was out of steak biscuits.

The Spencer Police Department is looking for the driver of a small, extended cab, white pick-up truck, possibly a Ford Ranger, who police say ran into an an employee in the drive-thru lane at the Bojangles restaurant in Spencer around 1:28 p.m. on Wednesday.

The truck, which at the time was pulling a utility trailer, pulled up to the speaker in the drive-thru and ordered two steak biscuits, police said.

After learning that the restaurant was out of steak biscuits, the driver left, hitting a Bojangle’s employee with the trailer as he pulled out of the drive-thru, according to police.

Investigators are not sure if the driver realized his trailer had struck the employee.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Spencer Police Department at 704-633-3574. Calls placed outside of the regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday can call 704-216-8500.
