Two charged; one sought in meth lab bust

SALISBURY - On Saturday, deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at 965 Ed Weaver Road, Salisbury.

On the arrival of the deputies, Clint Brown ran from the mobile home, and was arrested after a short foot chase.

As deputies approached the residence, they were quickly aware by the strong smell of chemical fumes that Brown and others were possibly involved in manufacturing methamphetamine.

Deputies were able to remove two more subjects, Sean Belk and Brandi McInnis from inside the residence. Deputies secured the residence, and called for Sheriff’s Investigators, who are trained and equipped for clandestine Meth Lab investigations. Investigators determined the residence was the sight of a methamphetamine lab, and secured the residence for the night.

Investigators made contact with the SBI, for a Lab Response Team, and a search warrant was obtained for the residence. Investigators charged Clint Brown and Sean Belk with manufacturing Methamphetamine, and both were placed in jail.

Brandi McInnis made claims that she was held against her will by Brown and Belk and was not charged initially.

On Sunday morning, SBI Chemists and Lab Team Agents arrived, and their search and investigation revealed the suspects were activity manufacturing Meth when the Patrol Deputies had arrived initially, on Saturday.  Inside the residence, investigators discovered evidence of at least 6 separate “Meth Cooks” on going, and about 2 grams of finished Meth.

Investigators also discovered McInnis had actually been involved in obtaining some of the chemicals needed to make Methamphetamine. Warrants were obtained for McInnis’ arrest.
