Sheriff: Child found in room with two meth labs; man charged

SALISBURY - A Gold Hill man is charged with making and selling the highly addictive drug methamphetamine.

Wesley Eugene Linker, 36, of 200 Hill Road, was charged on Friday and is now being held under $300,000 bond.

Investigators executed a search warrant at Linker's home.  They say they found two "one pot" meth labs that contained a total of 300 grams of liquid methamphetamine.  Other materials used to make illegal drugs were also found in the house, according to the sheriff.

Linker was in the room where the meth was located along with a 10 year old child, according to the report.  The report did not identify the relationship between Linker and the young boy.  The child was given to another family member.

More charges are expected in the case.  The Liberty Fire Department and Rowan Emergency Services assisted investigators in dismantling this operation.
