Man wanted for sex crime, kidnapping arrested in Concord | Crime

SALISBURY - A man who was arrested last week for kidnapping, now faces additional charges related to sex crimes against a juvenile.

On Friday, Wesley Allen Talbert, 30, was taken into custody by Detective Meismer and Detective Brindle at a truck yard in Concord.

Concord Police assisted with the warrant service at BAH Express, and Wesley was taken into custody without incident. 

Wesley had an active warrant for kidnapping a 15 year old girl in Rowan County in April.  Wesley Talbert was taken before the Magistrate this same date, and was ordered to be placed in the Rowan County Detention with a $100,000 bond.   

On Wednesday, Magistrate Matthews was presented with information concerning sexual contact by Wesley Talbert with this same 15 year old juvenile. The magistrate found probable cause in this case, and 5 warrants for Statutory Rape of a 14 and 15 year old child were issued.  

Magistrate Matthews increased the bond an additional $100,000 for a total of $200,000 secured bond. 

Wesley Talbert remains in the Rowan County Detention Center at this time.
