Police: Lafayette, we are here! | Crime

SALISBURY - The knock on the door at a Salisbury motel came as quite a surprise to Lafayette Demon Burney.

Burney, 26, was wanted on felony charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, larceny, and possessing stolen goods in Charlotte.  CMPD had already drawn warrants for Burney's arrest.

Late Thursday night police in Salisbury got information that Burney was staying at a hotel on Bendix Drive, just off I-85 in Salisbury.

When police arrived they found Burney and they say he had drugs and drug paraphernalia.  Burney was taken into custody and is now being held on the charges from Charlotte, as well as drug charges in Salisbury.

Bond for Burney was set at $15,000.
