SALISBURY - A Kannapolis man went from Facebook to the Sheriff's "Most Wanted" list, then to jail.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest of 32 year old, Rahkeem Quatrawn Smith, of 1600 Jackson St., Kannapolis.  Smith was wanted for Operation of a Social Network Site by a Registered Sex Offender, and was just recently added to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted List.  Smith had an account on Facebook.

Smith was placed in the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office under a $2000 secured bond.

SALISBURY - Two new names have been added the the "Most Wanted" list published by the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office currently holds warrants for felony breaking, entering and larceny in connection with the recent break-ins in eastern Rowan County along the railroad tracks near Granite Quarry.

The Sheriff’s Office CID obtained warrants on Bryant Lamar Lane, 19. Lane is last known to have been living on Davis Street in the Morlan Park area of Salisbury.

SALISBURY - It may not be the first place you would think to look, but for a Salisbury man, even his very intimate hiding place wasn't remote enough to fool law enforcement officers.

Edward Morrow, 34, was pulled over in a traffic stop late Thursday night.  Police noticed that a headlight was out on his car, and that he drove through a stop sign. 

When police approached the car the officers noted a strong smell of marijuana.  A small bag containing six small "rocks" of crack cocaine was found in a right front pocket of Morrow's pants.

Morrow as taken to the magistrate's office and charged with possession of cocaine.  When asked if he was carrying any additional drugs, Morrow said that he was not.

Mop Shock: woman looks up from cleaning floor to see naked man in parking lot

SALISBURY - A woman who was mopping the floor at the Rushco, 929 south Jake Alexander Boulevard, looked up from here work early Thursday morning to find a mostly naked man standing in front of the window.

The woman says the man, who she described as white, about 5'8" and overweight, was only wearing white shoes and had what looked like a black shirt in his mouth. 

The woman turned to grab her phone and call 911, but when she turned back the man was gone.

The incident was reported just after 2:30 am.  Anyone with information is asked to call police or Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.

SALISBURY - A man who told police he had been laid off from Freightliner was cited for walking out of Walmart with more than $1200 worth of merchandise, including lawn and exercise equipment.

According to a report at the Salisbury Police Department, Timothy Evans, 42, and his girlfriend, Kelly Harris, walked into the Walmart in Salisbury on Tuesday and began picking out items, including a string trimmer, a Snapper push mower, a leaf blower, treadmill, and a weight set.  

Walmart workers watched as the couple walked past cash registers and into the parking lot, then put the items in their Ford Taurus and drove away.  Workers did get the car's license number and called police.

SALISBURY - A woman from Apex took law enforcement officers from three counties on a wild ride on Interstate 85 Tuesday night, according to the report at the Salisbury Police Department.

Jessica Manuszak, 27, of Apex is currently under evaluation at a local hospital, but is facing charges of driving while impaired and felony flee to elude arrest.

Salisbury Police got involved just after 7:00pm when an officer driving on Jake Alexander Boulevard noticed a silver 2007 Pontiac G6 going more than one hundred miles an hour south on 85 near Jake Alexander Boulevard.  The officer clocked the car at a top speed of 118 miles an hour.

The officer also noticed that the driver appeared to be throwing small white pieces of paper from the driver's window and sun roof.  When the officer turned on his sirens and blue lights, the driver did not stop but kept heading south, swerving from lane to lane, forcing several other drivers off the road.
