Cheatham Lab Hosts Appetite for Life Academy Special Feature!

Join the UNC NRI’s Cheatham Nutrition & Cognition Lab for an informative presentation on Functional Foods this Fall.   

Functional Foods: Their Role in Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, presented by Sheau Ching Chai, Ph.D., R.D., Tuesday, September 25, 2012, 7:00pm – 8:00pm, UNC Nutrition Research Institute – Café** 500 Laureate Way, Kannapolis.

As Hippocrates said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Did you know that certain foods or food components may help prevent disease, reduce the risk of developing disease, or enhance health?

These foods are known as “functional foods.” Please join Dr. Chai, a Registered Dietitian and Postdoctoral Researcher to learn more about functional foods and how they can affect your health. By learning and knowing which foods can provide specific health benefits, you can have greater control of your health.
