Woman killed in business fire after explosion

CHINA GROVE - One woman is dead, four other people were able to escape after an explosion and fire at a China Grove business Friday night.

The explosion happened around 9:30 at S & S Graham Archery and Taxidermy on Highway 29.

Investigators say five people were inside the business when the explosion occurred.  While four were able to get out, one woman was trapped inside the business and could not be saved.  Family members say that Sonya Graham died in the fire, but officials are waiting on autopsy results to confirm the identification.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but on Friday night officials said that chemicals, possibly the type used in taxidermy, were involved.

Twin sisters Sonya and Sionna Graham have operated the business for years.  Their father, Buddy Graham, was a champion archer, and the women also have national reputations in the archery and bow hunting world.
