One treated for smoke inhalation in Granite Quarry house fire

GRANITE QUARRY - A woman was treated for smoke inhalation Thursday after fire broke out in a home on South Oak Street in Granite Quarry.

The fire was reported just before noon.  Rowan County EMS was called to help Zelma Alston, a resident of the home, who had breathed in too much smoke.  Officials said Alston was treated at the scene and should be okay.

The Red Cross as notified to help the family.
