Registration for summer classes now underway at RCCC | Schools
SALISBURY - Summer is just around the corner, and with that season comes days of warm sunshine, walks along the beach, and maybe even a chance to learn something that would last a lifetime.
Summer semester registration is underway at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. The college anticipates a significant demand for summer classes and recommends current and prospective students register as soon as possible.
Registration support sessions will take place on Thursday, May 10 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on North Campus in the Learning Resource Center (LRC) and on South Campus in the LRC on Thursday, May 10 from 3-6 p.m. Late registration will take place on the first day of classes, Wednesday, May 16 from 9-11 a.m. or 4:30-6:30 p.m. on North and South Campuses.
“Our brains don’t have to shut down just because its summertime,” said Dr. Carol S. Spalding, President of Rowan-Cabarrus. “You can get a head start on your certificate, diploma, or degree. Or, if you’re just going to be in the area for the summer, come take an affordable class or two.”
The Rowan-Cabarrus summer 2012 class schedule and registration information can be found at http://www.rccc.edu/recordsregistration/. Summer classes begin Wednesday, May 16. Morning, afternoon and evening courses are offered in addition to online Internet-based courses.
New students should be sure to complete an application (http://www.rccc.edu/onestop/622/apply-to-the-college/) and perform placement testing at least two days prior to registration. For complete details, see the Rowan-Cabarrus website at http://www.rccc.edu/recordsregistration/ or stop in to Student Services.
The “Completion Agenda” is a national goal for America to lead the world in college graduates by 2020. Community colleges across the country, including Rowan-Cabarrus, are joining together under this goal in a unified effort to increase the rate of postsecondary completion.
“We want our students to come through our doors and get the certificate, diploma, or degree they need to move on with their careers. Summer is the perfect time to continue working towards your goals,” said Spalding.
With day, evening, weekend and online classes, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College provides a strong foundation and transferable credits for students advancing to four-year schools and helps adults get the additional training they need to start, change or advance careers. From the 18 year-old high school graduate looking for an economical solution to education to the adult pursuing GED completion courses or English-as-a-Second-Language classes – Rowan-Cabarrus has it all.
Rowan-Cabarrus is located at I-85 (exit 75) and Jake Alexander Boulevard, in Salisbury (North Campus) and at 1531Trinity Church Road, just off I-85 and N.C. 73 at exit 55 (South Campus).
