CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV)- Summer is right around the corner and with the change of season comes another change; 90s are returning to the forecast.
It's been a very warm spring, with the month of March being the second warmest on record in Charlotte. Now we're jumping into summer, which officially starts on Wednesday.
90s in June are unpleasant, but by no means unusual. Charlotte will, on average, see eight days at or above 90 degrees this month.
So far, June highs have remained in the 80s. We even saw a few days with highs in the 70s, but it's a safe bet that trend will not continue much longer. By the weekend, highs are forecast to climb into the low to mid 90s! Thanks to the return of Gulf moisture, humidity will be high, too.

On average, Charlotte will top 100 degrees once a year.
