Photo Gallery | Tigers invade WBTV studios

CHARLOTTE - Tigers who are normally on display at Tiger World in southern Rowan County had a fun filled trip on Saturday to the WBTV Studios in Charlotte.

The baby tigers were on set with their handlers and with WBTV anchor Kristen Miranda and meteorologist Ashley Batey.

Storm, a white Bengal tiger, was born at Tiger World during a thunderstorm in March.  The baby tiger is growing quickly and by the time he reaches six months of age he will add ten pounds per week in weight.

Most of the tigers at Tiger World come from zoos or parks that have downsized or closed, but between 15-20% are from individuals who buy them as pets, then discover the difficulties involved in such a situation.
