Photo Gallery | Catawba bids a sweet farewell to Joe Oxendine
SALISBURY - Students and staff at Catawba College got the chance to say goodbye to interim president Joe Oxendine.
The college hosted an outdoor ice cream social on May 1.
Oxendine is a Catawba alumnus from the Class of 1952 and Chancellor Emeritus of UNC Pembroke.
The 82-year-old Oxendine answered the call of College Trustees in March 2011 and stepped in to serve as Catawba’s interim president until President Brien Lewis arrived on campus April 16, 2012.
