Photo Gallery | "Hunger Games" reading emphasis ends with prizes, fun for local students

CONCORD - Students and adults from Cabarrus, Rowan, Stanly, and Union counties enjoyed a day of "Hunger Games" inspired fun on Saturday at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center.

The event was the climax of the reading emphasis based on the popular movie.  Libraries from all four counties encouraged participation in the reading challenge that included contests to create poetry, make posters and bookmarks, and enjoy an afternoon on the obstacle course.

At the end of the day, dozens of "Hunger Games" prizes were awarded and the actual movie was shown on a large inflatable screen set up inside one of the exhibit halls
